Tien returns to the Pha Beek Khrut village, but he founds it empty. After a dance coincidentally performed by a grown-up Pim, Tien sneaks in dressed as a khon dancer himself and attacks Rajasena, apparently cutting the treacherous lord down. Tien travels alone to Rajasena's palace, where the lord is hosting a party to proclaim his power. In the present, Tien makes a blood oath to avenge his family, which Chernang encourages him to fulfill, promising him to make him their new leader upon his return.
At the same time, Sihadecho and his household were massacred by Lord Rajasena and a mysterious masked assassin, which Tien witnessed before escaping and being found by the slave traders. Back to the present, Tien tracks down his old slave traders and beats them down in revenge, throwing their leader to the crocodiles as he did to him.Īnother flashback reveals that Lord Sihadecho was betrayed by one of their own guards, who attempted to kidnap Tien, but the boy managed to flee with a loyalist's help. In the village, although the young Tien disdained their peaceful life, he eventually befriended Pim, an orphan girl. Sihadecho wanted Tien to be safe from the commander of the Ayutthaya royal guard, Lord Rajasena, who had plotted against his family. His father, Lord Sihadecho, sent him to learn dances in a remote village under Master Bua instead of making him a warrior. Tien subsequently becomes the field leader of the bandits, whose adventures make him reminisce about his previous life. After Tien passes his last test, killing a demonic female martial artist, Chernang proclaims him his adopted son and heir. He successfully tames wild elephants, and afterwards he fights and defeats three other bandits, a Japanese swordsman, a Chinese fighter, and an indigenous wrestler. Years later, an adult Tien is subjected to the tests necessary to become a true member of the Pha Beek Khrut.
They take him to their village, where their soothsayer claims that Tien is destined to become a great warrior, and Chernang offers him to become one of them, which Tien accepts. The leader of the band, Chernang, is intrigued by the boy's physical prowess and sheer willpower, and saves him by passing him a knife to slay the crocodile with. Tien's resistance leads the traders to throw him into a pool with a crocodile, but at that moment, the Pha Beek Khrut (" Garuda Wing Cliff"), a band of bandits and martial artists, unveil themselves and attack the traders. He manages to escape to the forest, where he is captured by slave traders. The Weinstein Company has the distribution rights for the film and is expected to release Ong Bak 2 in America sometime later in 2008.In 1431 Siam, during the reign of Borommarachathirat II of the Ayutthaya Kingdom, Tien, the young son of a noble family, is forced to flee from enemy soldiers. The script was written by stunt coordinator and filmmaker Panna Rittikrai who previously wrote the screenplay for Ong Bak and Born to Fight. Ong Bak 2 is directed by Thai martial artist Tony Jaa himself as his first feature film. Watch the early promo reel for Ong Bak 2 from YouTube: He is saved from execution by a group of global martial artists as a boy who and trains in every one of their arts in an attempt to fuse them all into one master martial art. This film takes place earlier in time than the first Ong Bak and stars Tony Jaa as a young man named Ting. If you thought that Tony Jaa was impressive in Ong Bak, just wait until you see all of the martial arts styles in this.
It actually looks exactly like a Thai version of the newest Rambo movie. The guys over at Twitch got their hands on the first promo reel from Ong Bak 2 and I must admit that I didn't turn away at all for the four minutes that this runs. Remarkably, the film has no actual connection with the first Ong Bak besides Tony Jaa's involvement. He followed that film up with The Protector in 2005 and now is starring in and directing his first feature film Ong Bak 2. His first film, Ong Bak from 2003, was what put him in the spotlight here in America. Many will argue that Tony Jaa is one of the most impressive martial arts actors alive today up there with the likes of Jet Li.
